Learn vital lifesaving skills –– free
Tesco Baby&Toddler Club is launching its successful BabySafe campaign for the third year in a row. This series of free, unique seminars run by experts from the Royal Life Saving Society UK helps teach parents invaluable lifesaving skills to keep their baby safe.
Campaign supporter and celebrity mum Terri Dwyer (pictured) comments, “As a parent, you never know what can happen so attending a first-aid course, whether to update or learn new skills, is a must for anyone who cares for a baby. The Tesco Baby&Toddler Club BabySafe programme, which teaches these valuable skills for free, is a great initiative.”
Parents, grandparents and carers will get the chance to learn about and practise vital lifesaving skills in the event of choking or when a baby stops breathing. The seminars also cover how to spot signs of meningitis, dealing with burns and scalds as well as car-seat safety hints and tips.
Di Standley, Chief Executive of RLSS UK, says, “The survey demonstrates a real need to provide parents with the tools to deal with an emergency first aid situation. Our first instinct is to panic and just knowing what to do can buy vital seconds, which could ultimately save a life.”
From November 2009 to March 2010, eight BabySafe seminars will be held in key locations around the country:
- Bristol - Monday 2 November 2009
- Guildford - Monday 9 November 2009
